Rhinoplasty is plastic surgery of the nose to change its external or internal structure. Though, technically not very difficult, it is hard to master and consistently achieve excellent results. Few surgeons are considered true experts in the procedure.
Few people are aware that rhinoplasty, in addition to enhancing one’s appearance, is also done to restore a patient’s ability to breathe through the nose. This is known as functional rhinoplasty. Obstruction to normal nasal breathing may be caused by nasal trauma, infection, tumors or a nasal birth defect. And if rhinoplasty not only restores nasal breathing but also improves the patient’s appearance then everyone is doubly happy with the result.
Constant and updated training is the only way to develop proficiency in rhinoplasty. The Rhinoplasty Masterclass Manila (RhinoMaMa 2017) through the FACES group of surgeons led by internationally renowned Filipino ENT-rhinoplasty surgeon Dr. Ed Yap will hold its annual Rhinoplasty Workshop on April 2-3, 2016. It will cover basic to advanced techniques. The hands-on live surgery course will benefit both novice and experienced surgeons.
The surgical workshop will use the first-rate operating room facilities at Providence Hospital – one of the most modern newly opened Hospitals in Quezon City. Surgery of 8-10 varieties of noses from simple to complicated will be demonstrated using both the closed or open structural approach.
Top Asian surgeons and special guest lectures who will share their knowledge and expertise include Drs. Choladhis Sinratchthanant M.D., Ph.D. from Thailand and Le Hanh, M.D., Ph.D. from Vietnam.
