According to Global Chronic Pain Statistics, in 2018, there are 11 million Filipinos that suffer from chronic pain while according to another study, it was mostly the women and elderly that suffer from it. Also, the most common location of these pain were the knees, back and lower back. In the same study, even with the availability of effective treatments like painkillers, most of the patients reported that taking medications is less effective while exercise therapy is included in all the guidelines for the treatment of chronic pain. Physical therapy is effective in treating and reducing chronic pain.
